DAY 1 SINGAPORE / ATHENS (Meals on board)
Assemble at Singapore Changi International Airport in the early morning hour and depart by your schedule Gulf Air flight to Athens via Bahrain . Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure.
DAY 2 ATHENS CITY TOUR - THE ACROPOLIS (B)
Good morning and welcome to Athens , the capital city of Greece . The morning city tour commences by driving to the centre of the city, passing-by the popular Syntagma Square ( Constitution Square ), The House of Parliament, The Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Presidential Palace and the National Library. On your way to Acropolis, you'll see the Panathenaic Olympic Stadium where the first Olympic games of the modern era were held in 1896, the Temple of the Olympian Zeus and Adrian 's Arch. On the world famous site of Acropolis, you'll be taken to visit its museum and the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propyiaca, the Temple of Athena Nike , the Erectheion and finally, "the harmony between matter and spirit", the monument that "put order in the mind" - THE PARTHENON.
Return to your hotel in the afternoon and you are free to explore the Plaka – the old quarter of Athens with its many shops, boutiques and restaurants.
DAY 3 ATHENS - CORINTH - MYCENAE - NAUPLION - OLYMPIA (Mon/Tue/Sat) (B, D)
Start your classical Greece tour today by driving along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf with a brief stop at the Corinth Canal , which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea , for photo taking. Drive on to Mycenae then continue to Epidaurus to visit the 4 th century theatre famous for its astonishing acoustics. Continue to the old capital of Greece - Nauplion, a picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress before driving across the Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripoli and Megalopoli to arrive at Olympia , the cradle of the Olympic games. Dinner and overnight stay at Olympia .
DAY 4 OLYMPIA - PATRAS - DELPHI (B, D)
Olympia - the cradle of the Olympic Game. Here, we will visit the Sanctuary of the Olympian Zeus, the Stadium and the Museum of Olympia . Thereafter, drive through the plains of Eliad and Achaia, through Patras, capital of the Peloponnese and take a car ferry across the “Little Dardnelles” from Rio To Antirio. We will be passing the picturesque town of Nafpaktos and Itea before arrive into Delphi , the centre of the Ancient world .
DAY 5 DELPHI SIGHTSEEING - KALAMBAKA (B, D)
In the morning, we will visit the archaeological site where you will see the Castalia Spring, the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios and the Treasury of the Athenians. In the afternoon, we drive north to Kalambaka, passing through numerous picturesque villages and typical towns of Central Greece . Tonight, you will have dinner and overnight stay in Kalambaka.
DAY 6 KALAMBAKA - METEORA - ATHENS (B)
The highlight of today’s tour is the visit to the Monasteries of Meteora. Standing between Earth and Sky, amid striking scenery, perched on top of huge rocks, the Monasteries seem to be suspended in mid air. Here, you will enjoy the unique and most impressive scenery with Ageless Monasteries, containing priceless historical and religious treasures. See exquisite specimens of Byzantine art and manuscripts. In the afternoon, we will drive back to Athens via Trikala and Lamia with a brief stop at Thermopylae to see the Leonida’s Monument.
DAY 7 SARONIC GULF ISLAND CRUISE ( AEGINA - POROS - HYDRA) (B, L)
Your visit to Greece would not be complete without visiting the islands on the Saronic Gulf . Your dream will come true this morning when you are taken to the Marina Trokadero pier to board a luxurious cruise to sail along the picturesque Agean sea to visit the three beautiful islands of Aegina , Poros and Hydra. You'll have free time to walk around and shop in these islands. Aegina is famous for its pistachio nuts and BBQ seafood whereas both Poros and Hydra are dotted with souvenir and boutique shops. You can even take an optional bus excursion to the fine preserved Temple of Afea Athena while on the Aegina Island . Lunch will be served during the voyage. (Note: Soft drinks are NOT included in your meal and on board the cruise).
DAY 8 ATHENS - SINGAPORE (B)
Get ready to pack up and bid farewell to beautiful Greece and off to airport for your Gulf Air flight back to Singapore via Bahrain .
